25k Chubb

The St. Louis Ultrarunners Group (SLUG) puts on a yearly race at the Chubb Trail.  The trail is a ~13 mile trail out and back (as you know from looking at the trails page).  SLUG puts on a race every year in April that is either one out and back (25k) or two out and backs (50k).  While the 50k is certainly enticing, the 25k I believe is best suited for me this year.

The race is held on the 19th of April so hopefully it'll be nice weather.  I'm not really nervous at this point as I've done the Chubb once before (not the race just the trail).  I went with Egon and a couple of others.  Egon lied to us about how long it was and just kept ignoring our whining until we finally finished.  It was hard and challenging but I certainly wasn't in shape at the time.  I'll be more ready this go around :)

If you'd like to register, you'd better hurry as the slots are filling up fast.  Registration has only been open for a few days and from my "inside sources," it's just about full.   Go to the SLUG homepage for more information.  Of course, a full recap of the day's events will be posted once the race is complete.

Thus the 25k = 15.5 miles and 50km = 31 miles. If it's like years previous, they add a little leg (all hill) to one end of the race.
